Oklahoma Aquarium

We took a trip to Jenks, Oklahoma which is about an hour or a little more away, to go to the Oklahoma Aquarium with some friends of ours last week. It was alot of fun. Chloey loved seeing all the fish. They also had 3 or 4 different stations throughout that you could touch see creatures such as starfish ect. We also got to watch a few different fish feedings, including the sharks.

Chloey was a little afraid to sit up on the glass. She thought the fish, or in this case the seahorse, was going to be able to get her.

Afterwards We went and ate dinner before heading home. Our original plan for the day was to go to Frontier City, which is a Theme park in Oklahoma City, but we did not realize they were not open on the weekdays yet until school gets out. I am glad though that we got to go to the aquarium instead. It was alot of fun and chloey really enjoyed it.

Tornado

Last Monday evening we had a tornado come through our town from a storm that produced numerous tonado's across the state. It was the first time we had to go into the underground shelter since we have lived here. We were out of town for the day, but luckily got back home in time to gather a few things and take cover. The one that hit our town was about a mile south of our road/house. We had some slight wind damage down our road from straight line winds on the outside of the tornado area, but nothing that couldn't be fixed. Since it tore down quite a few power lines we were out of electricity for about 3 days. We are just Thankful that it was not any closer to us and that us and our houses (my grandparents and sister live next door) stayed safe!

When we came out of the shelter to look, we could see three funnels clouds still spinning.

Chloey got a "fing set"

We told Chloey she would get her own swing set, when she filled up her potty training chart. She did, so I ordered one and we went to pick it up this last time matt was home. She loves it! She is not totally potty trained yet, but is having more and more accident free days!

When i told her she was getting a swing set, she said "and a Park!". I said yes, the backyard can be your park! :)

On the way home from picking up the swing set from the store, Chloey kept looking in the back of the truck and saying "yup, my fing set still back there". She wanted to make sure we were going to get it all the way to our house.

These swing sets do not come with clear instructions as to what goes where for sure. Just general pictures. We had to move/reaarange some of the main body a few times, but got it together after a couple hours of work time. Chloey still had some time left before it got dark out, so i snapped a few pictures of her playing on her new "Fing Set" (as she says).

I think chloey needs someone her own size on the other side, looks like shes getting pretty heavy if she can hold up daddy already ;)

New Project

Matt has found himself a new project. Finally found an old ford he has been wanting to get for a while. Its does not run at the moment, but does turn over. He hasn't had alot of time to tinker with it since getting it, because of work and weather, but will hopefully have it up and running soon. I snapped a few pics of him out working on it.

Build N' Grow

I started taking Chloey to the kids build n' grow projects they have on the weekends at Lowes. They are free kids building clinics where they get something new to build every Saturday, along with a patch that is supposed to be put on these kids size aprons (but our lowes seems to be out of those for now) and other miscellanious items that go along with the current project. So far we have been to two of the clinics. The projects are kid size and come in prepackaged bags with all the pieces and nails to build it with. They also get a kid size hammer to use. At the first one we built a "see it grow planter", and at the second we built a hanging bird feeder. Chloey loves going to " build somethin" as she says.

Circles

Lately Chloey has been paying more attention to shapes. She has been particularly practicing drawing Circles. She is getting pretty good at it and at least gets the general idea. She also likes to shape her necklaces out into circles.

She actually learns alot of stuff from her dora cartoons when she watches them. The other day she was pointing out red and blue flowers on my sandals and calling them by thier spanish names. She can also point out Triangles, stars, and hearts.

So my post is a little past Easter, but oh well. This year Easter really snuck up on us! it doesn't even seem like it was time for it yet. Matt flew in from work Saturday morning, so after we got back home from picking him up we colored our eggs. Its always a fun time. only ended up having one spill when chloey decided to throw an egg into one of the cups.

Sunday Morning we went to Church first then afterwards we had a potluck at the lake. It was a really nice day, despite the wind! We ate lots of good food, played at the park, and enjoyed the day! Chloey, and the other kids her age also hunted for eggs there at the park.

My Little Gardener

We found these really cute sesame street themed my first greenhouse kits for kids at lowes! Chloey wanted the Elmo one that grows baby tomatoes. We got it home, and she couldn't wait to get it open and start planting. It came with little dirt pods that grow when you add water, so nothing to messy to deal with.

Chloey put the included elmo stickers on the pots and put in the dirt pods. I watered them and we had to wait 5 to 10 minutes for them to fill up the pots with dirt.

when the dirt was ready she poked holes in it with her fingers and i helped her plant the seeds. we were supposed to put in 5 or 6 seeds per pot but probably ended up with about 10 in each one

after planting we put in the included label stick so we know what we planted. Chloey is very proud of her tomatoes, and cant wait for them to "grow up" (as she says) so we can eat them.

They now have grown to little one inch sprouts and she couldn't be happier that they are growing. They were doing pretty good until i looked at them this morning and they are starting to look a little shrivled....I hope i can get them to perk back up soon! If they start dying I may have to do some secret undercover switching with new ones, because she is very proud of them, and is checking them everyday for tomatoes!

I also picked up some spring flowers to put outside the house. I put them in these flower boxes and Matt made some brackets for me to hold them so they could hang on the front of the porch. I did not buy them pre-bloomed, but they have all bloomed really nicely since i planted them. I did have to bring them inside, since the weather decided to have that snow spell a couple days ago, but should be able to put them back out now. Im really happy they all are blooming so well. We also got a lilac bush and planted it out front. I cant wait for that to start blooming, I love how they smell!

Voyager of the Seas

At the end of Feburary I went on a Royal Caribbean Cruise, aboard the Voyager of the Seas. I went with my mom and my aunt lisa. My cousin, Thomas, works on the ship as a singer/dancer, so it was fun getting to see him for a bit. It was a one week cruise that stopped at Roaton, Honduras, Costa Maya, Mexico, and Cozamel, Mexico. In Roaton we spent the day on a small island, laying out, swimming the ocean, and feeding the monkeys. In Costa maya, we took a tour to see the Mayan Ruins, and in Cozamel we mostly shopped and walked around town. Since it was Feburary, the weather was not as hot and sunny as I would have liked, but was still nice out and definately better than the weather they were having back home. The ship was enourmous and such a blast, it looks like a mall on the inside. Plenty to do during the day, and Fancy dinners and shows every night.

Its Winter Again

So while Matt was home and the first part of the week after he left back for work we had really nice spring like weather. It was warmer, got to get Chloey out of the house, and got to play in the yard some. Then Thursday comes along and we have winter once again. Thursday Evening we had an ice storm, which luckily did not knock out our electricity like it did to so many people around here. I think we got a 1/2 to 3/4 inches of ice covering everything. Friday we got snow. All day snow. I measured 7 inches Friday evening on my porch. I made a snow angel on the porch, that was fun, Also let Chloey play in the snow on the porch for a little bit. We could not stay out long because it was still snowing pretty heavily at that point and was cold since we do not have any proper snow gear and no they don't sell it here either. She had a blast for a few minutes in it anyway.

It was very pretty and white out side this weekend but has warmed up some today and the ice and snow that we got is now starting to melt. It sounds pretty noisy outside today actually, You can hear all the ice falling from the tops of trees and breaking off of stuff. Unfortunatly it is turning my driveway and front yard into one big mud hole!

My First Kite

I was cleaning out the office closet this last time that Matt was home and came across this elmo kite that we had bought for Chloey a while back. She was wanting to open it, so Daddy took her outside and got it set up for her. It is frequently windy at our house, so having wind for it was not a problem. Matt got it up in the air showing chloey how to hold it and then let her have a try. She loved it! She held on to it watching elmo fly back and forth and saying "look momma, elmo!" She did really good with it, however she did let go of it once while trying to wave at my grandma across the street and Daddy had to go chasing after it across the yard, wich by the way was hilarious! If only I had my video going then. All in all it was a lot of fun flying the Kite with her and she wants to fly it again everyday now.

Im Ready To See The Sun!

We have had abnormally low temperatures here for the last two days. It has been in the single digits, but negative temps with the wind Chill. I woke up this morning to find that our water was frozen! Fortunately my grandpa came over and set up a heat lamp in our well house to thaw it out. It took all afternoon, but we have water again! Tonight is supposed to be the coldest night, so i am definately going to leave the water dripping, so I dont wake up with the same problem tomorrow!

This week has not gone by as fast as I expected it to, but I am glad it is finally the weekend. Matt comes home from work tomorrow, so Chloey and I will be headed to the city in the morning to pick him up. Chlo gets really excited to pick up daddy, and like to run to him at the airport. He gets in around 10 so we have to get up and around early. Hopefully the truck will get warmed up and we will not freeze!

Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a Safe night of Celebrating. As for us, Matt is up at work, and Chloey and I stayed home and watched the celebrations on tv. well, I watched them anyway, Chloey fell asleep on me not long after her usuall bedtime. I am hoping that someday Matt might be home for new years so I can get a new years kiss! Today we went to my grandparents house for a family christmas get together, and tomorrow we are having a new years get together at my sisters house. Lucky for me they both live next door, so I dont have to go far. Although the holiday food is very yummy, I am ready to quit the overstuffing and get back on a sensible diet.

We were very blessed in 2009, and cant wait to see what the new year brings!

We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! We sure did! Since Matt was supposed to leave for work in the afternoon on the 24th, we decided to celebrate our Christmas the weekend before so Matt would have time to check out all of his stuff for a few days before he had to leave for work.

We pretended Saturday was our Christmas Eve. My parents and sisters came over to have tacos with us and give Matt his presents from them.

Later before Chloey went to bed we put out cookies and milk for Santa, and left him a note.

Sunday morning "Christmas morning" came. Chloey was surprised with her presents from Santa. We had our usuall Christmas morning breakfast, French toast, and opened up all of our gifts and stockings, then went to church for Christmas Sunday.

We hung out for the next few days of the week until Thursday when Matt was supossed to leave for work. Well, for anyone who thinks it doesn't snow in Oklahoma....We got the biggest blizzard of snow Oklahoma has probably had on Thursday. Of course by afternoon roads were shut down with multicar pileups and lucky for us the airports were closed! After a few phone calls to airlines and work, matt got on the next flight that was available which was not until this morning (sat), So we got to spend all of Christmas with him! We couldn't have asked for anything better.

The blizzard may have been bad on Thusday, but by Christmas morning it was Beautiful and perfect for our White Christmas!

Monday was Chloey's Second birthday! Since Matt does not get home until Saturday, we are waiting to have her party then. Chloey and I spent the day together, had a birthday dinner and cupcakes here at the house, followed by movie time. We got her the ice age movies as one of her present, so i gave those to her. She cant wait to have her party so she can finally start touching the Dora stuff I ordered for it. I cant believe my baby girl is already a two year old!

Countdown to 2!

Only 3 days until our precious turns 2! (and if baby additudes, that sound like shes 13 come with that, then she is right on schedule lol) We went and got Chloey's two year old picture and family pictures done last week. Two hours and two different sessions later, we got some pretty good pictures. Chloey was scared to death of the camera and flipped out everytime the lady got close to it, so we had to leave, get some cookies to calm her down, then go back to try again. Matt and I then had to push the picture button in between each picture that was taken so she would smile and not freak out. All in all, you cant really tell there was even a problem with her by the pictures, so mission accomplished!

Some Christmas Decorating

Before Matt had to leave for work last Thursday, we started some of our Christmas Decorating. We got boxes of the multicolored icicle lights to hang outside around the house. We were originally going to get the plain white, but i think the colored turned out much prettier!

Matt and I also set up our tree, and he topped it off with the angel. We put the lights on it to, but that is as far as we got. Chloey and I will probably be putting the ornaments on some time this week. Usually I would have all the Christmas stuff all up by now, but have been somewhat lax about it this weekend. My pictures may be a little blurry since I took these ones on my phone.

I wanted to start some fun holiday crafts to do with Chloey this year. We Started by making some snowflakes to put up on our glass door. She did the coloring and of course I did the cutting. She was very proud of our snowflakes when i put them up on the door.

"Fall"ing Leaves

Since we had some decently warm weather last week, Chloey took advantage of being able to play outside. She loves playing in the leaves. We hardly have any trees around our house, but my parents have quite a bit, so they have tons of leaves everywhere! I snapped a few pics of Chloey and Papa Playing out in the leaves. They were having fun throwing them up in the air to each other.

It is much cooler out this week, so we will hopefully be having some bonfires. We will also probably start getting out the Christmas lights and decorations this weekend! Since Matt leaves for work on Thanksgiving, we will have to decorate a little earlier. I will also be busy planning and getting stuff together for Chloeys 2nd birthday, which is just a couple weeks away.

A Fairy Princess

This year Chloey was a Fairy for Halloween. The day before we went to my dad's work where they had a little trick or treat trail set up for employees family. On Halloween night we went trick or treating in town with my Mom, Jocey, Julia and Ryeley. It was alot of fun. I even wore a little pirate costume. Chloey's whole bucket was filled with candy by the time we were done, and it was heavy. On a funny note, Chloey asked a couple people for thier real food instead of thier candy.

Pumpkin Carving

We did Pumpkin Carving at our house this year. We have alot of fun doing this every year. Matt, Chloey and I each picked out a pumkin, and my sisters Jocey and Julia each brought one over to carve also.

This was Chloey's first Pumpkin Experience, and she dug right in getting all the gooey stuff out of her pumpkin. When she was done, she put the stuff from the bowl back into her pumpkin so she could get it out again. She even got both hands in on the action.

Great Wolf Lodge

Matt, Chloey and I took a family vacation up to Kansas City to stay at the Great Wolf Lodge there. It was about a 5 hour drive from our house. It is an excelent place to stay for a trip especially for kids. The whole lodge is decorated like a cabin and has an indoor waterpark, a big Arcade, arts and crafts, and singing and bedtime stories by the clock tower. We stayed there for 3 days, and we all had a blast the entire time. Right next door is a huge Cabellas store that matt enjoyed. Also a Russel Stover, and we were right next to the Kansas Speedway. It is on the outside of Kansas City, and is a great tourist location. Luckily it is the off season right now, so there weren't a ton of people around the hotel, which made it alot nicer, especially in the waterpark.

Chloey Loves waterslides! She had alot of fun at the water park, and wanted to go down the slides again, and again, and again. There was also a big 1000 gallon bucket of water at the top of the water tree house that dumped out over the floor about every 5 minutes or so. When you hear the bell ringing you better get out of there, or get soaked.

1 Year and Counting

We have offically lived in Oklahoma for a year now. I think we pulled in here September first or second last year. So far life here has been good. We have our own house and land which is wonderful. The 1st year has pretty much been getting everything together and settled. Hopefully now we can start having fun, traveling, and doing things we moved south for.

I signed up to be a Tupperware consultant about 2 months ago and I absolutely love it so far! I am having fun selling Tupperware and having party's. Im glad that I found something that I like to do, while making some extra money, and still being able to be a stay home mom! What's New Since May!!

So I realize that i have not posted anything for a couple months. I guess I have just been lazy about blogging lately. What's new since May??

Chloey is 19 months old now, but if you ask her how old she is, she will tell you two. She has a very big vocabulary and is starting to say sentences. Since summer started her favorite thing to do is swim! We are working on potty training, she really is not interested in going in the potty. She loves Dora, and wants to watch her everyday! She is a very caring and sweet girl although somedays I think she is on the fast track to the terrible two's. lol

Chloey has a new fuzy white cat. Its name is Marly. She loves it, but I am thinking about getting rid of it since it seems to be the worst cat in the world. It is driving me up the wall, I dont know what to do about it yet.

Matt is FINALLY back on his normal two and two schedule, so we get to see him more than 5 days! We are very happy about that!

For the 4th of July, everyone came to our house for an evening bbq. We had all the good food that the 4th of July should have! We also did some fireworks, even though it wasn't very dark yet, however our fireworks got cut short by a big storm that blew in. Chloey did not like the fireworks, the noise scared her. Earlier in the day, we went to the celebration in town and let chloey play on the inflatables they had set up.

Matt had his 23rd birthday on July 1st. The night before I took him to play pool, and see the new Transformers movie that just came out. We liked it!

Its July and we have reached the hundreds. Apperently we are in a heat wave. All i know is that its too hot! Im sure matt is feeling great in the cooler air up at work.

We Have A Front Porch

God Made Dirt, Guess Dirt Can't Hurt

Why every little kid has to try eating dirt, I do not know! Chloey has recently had her share of dirt tasting. Matt and I were spending the afternoon out doing yard work, and Chloey was playing away in the dirt with her shovel. Matt had even made a little pile of dirt for her to dig in. Well, him and I were standing around talking about vines growing on our storage shed and I thought i heard Chloey making spitting noises. We turn around and a handful of dirt is being spit out of her little mouth and dirt running down her chin. "yucky" she said, and kept trying to scrap the taste of dirt off her tongue for a couple minutes.

Chloey loves to color and write. For Easter her Aunt JuJu and Rye Rye got her a Color Wonder coloring book and marker set. I opened it up the other morning for her to try. She had fun coloring. I tried to color some of her picture too, the green hats are mine, but she didn't appreciate that, and told me no no. Guess ill have to get my own book. Best thing about color wonder, it only colors on the paper, not on anything else.

Easter Festivities

Easter is always a blast...between the egg coloring and hunting, and the candy, particularly chocolate.....what's not to love? Suprisingly Easter did not sneak up on me this year. I was pretty much prepared for everything. Technically this was Chloey's second Easter, but it was the first she could actually participate in. She's only 16 months old, and had four egg hunts and got more candy then she (or I) need in a year. The weekend before Easter we had a get together at my grandpa and grandma farrows house with my dad's side of the family. That's where the egg hunting began. It didn't take long for Chloey to figure out what she was supposed to be looking for, and was still looking for eggs long after they were all already picked up.

This was before she knew what was actually inside the eggs. The saturday before Easter we went to an Easter party for the kids at our church, where they had a cookie walk and chloey painted an egg with paint, and they also had an egg hunt there. Afterward we went out to my Pepa and Mema's house (my mom's parents) so Chloey and Ryeley could hunt eggs there. I think thats where she finally caught on to the fact that there was candy inside the eggs. Matt had to leave for work on Thursday, so Chloey colored eggs with him that morning. She wanted to throw the eggs in the cups, so daddy had to help with that. Chlo and I also colored eggs again at my mom and dad's on Saturday night. They are the ones at the top of the post.

Easter morning rolled around. Chlo and I got dressed in our pretty Easter clothes and headed to church. It was nice and sunny all weekend, until sunday, well late saturday night it started raining and rained all day sunday. After church we went to my mom and dad's house and for the fourth time the girls hunted thier eggs, had to be inside this time since it was raining. since Chloey had figured out by now what was inside the eggs, if she could not get them open she threw them back on the floor, if she opened them and there was no candy inside, she threw them back, if there was candy she took the candy out, and threw the egg back on the floor. She didn't care about putting them in her basket anymore, she just wanted the candy!

Another Easter Surpise for Chloey....a baby duck! We now have a new pet duck named "cack cack", named by Chlo of course.

Trip To The OKC Zoo

Last week while Matt was home from work, Him and I took Chloey to the Oklahoma City Zoo. We had a great time, it took us about 4 hours to tour the place. I wanted to go before it got to blistering hot out this summer, and we couldn't have picked a nicer day. It was close to 80, hardly a breeze, we didn't expect the day to be that nice, I ended up with a sunburn (who'd of thought :) ), while Matt and Chlo practically got a tan....

First up was the Sea Lion Show! It was funny and entertaining, and Chloey LOVED it! She cheered for the sea lions and danced to the music, probably the most interactive part of the day for her.

Chloey liked walking around and pointing out the animals to daddy. She giggled at most of them.

There were not any real elephants at the zoo this time, they were gone visiting the Tulsa zoo, but Chloey loved sitting on this baby elephant statue. She was waving and smiling!

Chloey ended up falling asleep about half way through the zoo, so she did not get to see alot of the "bigger" animals like the giraffes and gorilla's, but Matt and I enjoyed seeing them.

We just got back from our trip to Alaska. Chloey did well on the plane rides. She was a little sick on our way up so she slept the whole time. On the way back home she was more restless and didn't sleep as much but thankfully we were sitting by people who either had babies or didn't mind chloey trying to give her stuff to them or lean on them. On one flight going up and comming back the person beside us didn't show up so she got to have her own seat. That was a nice break for me! We had a great time while we were there, visiting family, friends, and having lots of fun. We were up there for about a month and stayed with my Uncle Billy, Aunt Melissa and thier three boys. It snowed alot while we were there, about 9 inches one of the days. It was pretty, and not to cold! We took Chloey sledding for the first time and she LOVED it! She loved the snow.

Just like every kid who plays in the snow, she had to eat some! I made sure it was white!

Matt and I went for a night away at Alyeska! It was a nice trip and so pretty up there. We got to get some massages! They were GREAT! It was a really relaxing two days!

We also took Chloey and my cousin Reagan to Bouncin' Bears. It is an indoor play area filled with blow up slides and things to jump in. They both had a lot of fun! Chloey loved going down the slides! Matt and I took turns carrying her up since she could not climb them by herself.

Cold, Cold, Alaska

I know, I know, it hasn't really been that cold, but colder than Oklahoma has been. For those who didn't know, Chloey and I are up visiting Alaska at the moment. We arrived here on Feburary 19th and will be here until March 20th. We are having a good time so far, and enjoying all the snow we have been getting since we've been here. It is so pretty. Im sure I will have plenty of pictures and adventures to post when I get home.

Snow Fun

Since we had been couped up in the house because of the weather, Chloey was just begging me to go outside. She had been bringing me her coat and hat all morning so i decided to go ahead and take her out. We dont have a snowsuit for her since we didn't expect to need one, but it wasn't very cold out so I just layered her up in about five layers of clothes and called it good. I followed her all over the yard for about ten minutes. She fell down a couple times but got right back up smiling. She really enjoyed walking around outside. The snow, or ice i should say, was hard as a rock and didn't even make footprints. She tried to get down and pick it up, but didn't get anything. Mabey next time we will have snow for a snowman!

Winter Has Arrived

So we finally got some winter weather here in Oklahoma, besides just being cold out. That last two days have been filled with snow, sleet, ice, and cold temperatures! This morning I woke up to my front yard covered with snow, and it was sleeting pretty constantly last night and all day today. I did not even want to attemp to get out and go anywhere as the roads were covered with a sheet of ice, but as I saw on the news, alot of people did and ended up in the ditch or spinning out in the middle of the road. Now, I have been driving in Alaska since I could drive, so it didn't really seem like it would be a big deal, but the icy weather here in Oklahoma does seem to be alot different than up there, plus Im pretty sure that no one here besides us has 4wd...haha

Missing Daddy

For the next three months or so Matt will have to be working two weeks on and one week off, so we are not going to get to spend as much time together as we would like especially with the flying time also cutting into that one week. He just left back for work today after only five days of being home and Chloey and I are really missing daddy!

Last night I took a couple pics of Chloey and Daddy playing. We always have so much fun together. We love you and miss you daddy!!

A Little Catching Up To Do!

So, It has been a while since I have posted anything on here! Alot of things have been going on the past few months and I have some catching up to do in the blogging world.

First of all Happy New Year!! we had a ton of new good changes in 2008, and hope 2009 to be even better.

Chloey Update!

Chloey is now walking like crazy in fact, alot of times running like crazy! She also has six teeth in. She is becoming an independent girl! she wants to feed herself with her fork and spoon, even though she usually picks up the food with her oposite hand....as long as she get it in her mouth and not on the floor, i dont care at this point!

Chloey's first birthday party turned out great! We had it a week after her actuall birthday since daddy was at work, we wanted to wait until he got home. She didn't dig into her cake as expected, just picked off one little piece at a time and stuck it in her mouth. after a few minutes she figured out she like the icing and sucked it off the piece of cake and didn't want the cake part. She ended up getting a ton of new toys, some new clothes and pajamas and a princess tent.

Christmas

Christmas just flew by for us this year! It was here and gone before i even knew it and im still wondering where it went....oh well, have to wait until next year for it to come around again. The weekend befor christmas we went to the christmas party for my dad's side of the family. On christmas eve we had my mom's side of the family christmas party, then our normal christmas eve with my parents, by that time (after midnight) chloey was so exahsted and very cranky we just went home and went to bed and skipped her christmas eve present. On christmas morning, I slept in...matt got up early. Matt made us our french toast christmas breakfast and we opened our presents and stockings from each other. Then we had to get ready and head over to my aunts house for dinner before i had to take matt into the airport to unfortunately head back up to work...

My big present from Matt this year that i absolutely LOVE is a Cricut Expression!! I have been wanting one for a looong time and I cant wait to get my scapbooking area set up in our new house and get to crafting. Matts big present was a bbq grill, and Chloey's was a tinkerbell four wheeler! a baby one of course.

Speaking of our new house....we are FINALLY in it! Everything is mostly set up and unpacked besides some random boxes in one of the spare rooms. We are so happy to be finally living in our own place again. Our house is a 4 bedroom 3 bath, kitchen, front living room, family room, dining room, and utility. We Love it. We have internet set up...which i am thankfull for :)...but not tv or land phone or anything like that yet. hopefully soon, for now we just watch movies. good thing we have a ton of them.

Halloween and what's new with Chloey

Halloween this year was a blast! We got together with some of my family a few days before, and carved our pumpkins. They turned out really good. We also stuffed a big Spider to sit on my parents front porch.

This Was Chloey's First Halloween! She was dressed up as a pretty baby butterfly. It did not take her long to figure out what was in her candy bucket. Chloey and I went trick or treating with My cousin Sara and her two kids. We had alot of fun and got lots of candy. Chloey was exhausted from all of the excitement and was asleep before we were done.

Chloey is already eleven months old! She is growing so fast. She is so full of energy and a very fast learner. She is leaning to walk and can take about five steps now without falling. She also finally got her first tooth and has another one comming in. Her favorite words right now are "cat", "dye dye (bye bye)", and "Da Da".

We Made It To Oklahoma!

We finally made it to Oklahoma last Tuesday! After eight days of driving i was glad i didn't have to get in the truck the next day for more. We had a slow start and a few problems along the way, including six flatts on the trailer, but we are glad nothing worse happened and we made it here safely.

We have a house picked out and hope to be able to puchase it soon. Hopefully the process will go smoothly and we will not have to wait very long. We are excited that we will finally own our own home!

Chloey...8 Months And Growing

Chloey has recently started CRAWLING!! She is getting better at it everyday. Of course, she crawls her best when she is going after something that i do not want her to get. Matt was home and able to see her when she was just starting out, which was nice for him since he misses some things due to being away at work. Here is a video of her in action....

She is expanding her vocabulary and trying to mimic different sounds. She also likes to get up on her knees and pull over her toy basket to find something to play with. Once she gets all the toys out, she just plays with the basket.

We are still waiting for a tooth to show up.....

The Countdown Is On

Im sure most of you already know, but in case you havn't heard, we are moving! The countdown is on, we have about 4 weeks left until our big move from Alaska to Oklahoma. With our trailer in the drive, and passports in hand all we have left to do, is to finish packing. We are excited to be starting something new, and we hope it goes well.

Fun At The Park

We took Chloey on her first trip to the park yesterday. It was a nice day out, and we wanted to get out of the house and do something together. Chloey loves being outside, and we had a really nice time hanging out and playing. Her favorite part was going on the swing. She would put her hands up in the air everytime she got little butterflies in her stomach and laugh. She also had fun trying to figure out what the grass was. She enjoyed being able to pull a big handfull out of the ground. Since we took so many pictures I put some on a Slide show for you to see. Enjoy

Weekend Races

Yesterday we headed out to our local race track, North Star Speedway, to watch some of the car races. They have them every Saturday through the summer. The wind was blowing and it was sprinkling a little off and on, so we didnt get to stay long because it was pretty cold, but we still got to watch some of the races. Hopefully we will go again on a warmer day. Here is a few pictures I took while we were there.

And yes people thought Chloey was a boy wearing this orange tigger suit, but it is the warmest thing we had that fit her. At least she had a pink blanket.

Hooray For Sink Baths!

I gave Chloey her first sink bath tonight. It was alot easier for her to sit up by herself, since its the perfect bath size, and she liked having the water a little deeper. It was nice for me to because I didn't have to bend over the bathtub on the floor, and since she could sit up by herself i didn't have to hold her up the whole time, and she could play with her toys more.

At first she didn't know what to think about it, but once I got her toys in there she decided it was fun.

She was happy that she could actually reach her toys with out them floating to far away.

We will have to do this more often, she was having so much fun.

mmm....those bath toys sure do taste good!

6 Month Update

Chloey is six months old! We took her into the Dr. office today for her six month appointment and shots. Her weight is at 16 lbs 10 oz, and she is 28 in long! She is close to sitting up by herself, but still needs a little practice.

Memorial Day

As this is a day of rememberance of those who have passed while serving our country, I would like to send a big THANK YOU, to all the military personel currently serving. I give my full support and prayers for you and your families!

For Memorial Day this year we had a cookout with some people from our church at a place called the "40 Acres". It is pretty much a big open field surrounded by trees with a couple historic cabin type buildings on it. We roasted hot dogs and marshmellows over the fire, socialized, and watched parachuters.

We also went on a couple of hay rides which are so much fun, although im still trying to pick peices of hay out of my clothes! We rode on a trailer filled with hay while we were pulled around the field by an old tractor.

Chloey enjoyed the day being outside, and even wore her new pink sunglasses!

The weather was mostly sunny with a little wind throughout the day. It was a nice day to kick off the summer. I even got a sunburn!

Welcome

I would like to welcome my new niece Ryeley to the world! Congratulations to my sister Julia, and her husband Shane on the birth of thier new baby girl. Ryeley Starr Stanfill was born on May 16th at 7:07Pm. She weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces and was 19 inches long.

5 Months

Chloey is 5 months old already! Im not sure what her stats are right now, as in height and weight, because she does not have a doctor's appointment this month, but she will next month. here are a few things that she has learned, or has been doing over the past month or so....

She is sleeping in her crib, in her own room. She goes to bed around ten and pretty much sleeps through the night, but likes to gets up earlier than i want to!

She has been eating baby food for about a month now. She eats the rice cereal for breakfast and one of the regular gerber baby foods for dinner. She has tried all of the foods, and likes them all, but i think the sweet potatoes are her favorite right now!

She also likes to eat her feet!

She is tring to crawl away! She can get up onto her knee's, but she hasn't figured out how to use her arms and legs at the same time yet to get up all the way.

She loves to be outside! When it is sunny out, I'll push her in the stroller and go on a nice walk.

Just a few pics from Chloey's first Easter. We wish you were here daddy!

Looking pretty in her new dress.

I colored Chloey her first Easter egg and tried to let her play with it, but all she wanted to do was try and eat it!

The Easter Bunny (aka-daddy), got Chloey this huge pink bunny. She was having lots of fun riding on it!

Chloey also got this Cute little Chick from her Gigi, and Papa Tom. It chirps when you put your hand on the bottom of it. She liked playing with it, but of course kept trying to eat it as well.

Matt and I also had some goodies sent to us from my parents. Thank You!

Vacation

Chloey and I have been home from our vacation now for about a week, and i think i am finally back to my normal time! We had such a great time on our vacation. Everyone was really happy to get to see chloey and i think she liked all the attention.

The plane ride went alot easier than i thought it was going to. Chloey pretty much slept the whole time except to wake up when she was hungry. She cried a little until i could get her bottle ready, but soon went right back to sleep. She was a little restless on one of the flights but didn't really cry much. She didn't have any problems with her ears bothering her, so that was good. Suprisingly when she did cry, none of the people next to me seemed to mind. They all just thought she was cute and asked questions about her.

Since it was a little warmer down there than up here, Chloey got a chance to actually see what "outside" looks like, and she absolutely loved it. she was so happy being outside. I think she'll fit right in with Matt and I.

We also had the chance to take a 5 generation picture while i was down there with my Great Grandma Rob, my Grandpa (pepa), my Mom, Me, and Chloey. I know alot of people dont get the chance to have that many generations together, so it was a special moment. This is a picture that was taken with my camera

Overall our vacation went by fast, but we had fun and it was nice to get to see everyone again!

Our Valentines Trip

For Valentines Day this year Matt planned a trip for us to stay at Alyeska for the night! It was snowing during our drive there and all night and was so pretty. We got to hang out and spend time together as a family, although chloey was cranky for most of the night, It was nice to have a little getaway! We had a really nice room, and had a nice dinner together. We didn't get to go up to the top of the mountain on the tram like we had wanted due to the tremendous amout of snowboarders and skiiers in the freezing weather wanting to get on it also , but we plan on trying to go again. I just want to say thanks to Matt for planning such a nice night for us!

If you happen to ever have dinner at the Pond Cafe in the Alyeska Resort, i definately recommend getting this dessert! It is called Baked Alyeska, and is a chocolate lovers dream! On the inside is white, dark, and milk chocolate mousse, with a chocolate filled candy right in the center. The outside is an Italian meringue, which of course is baked a little, surrounded by even more chocolate sauce! Now i am definately a chocolate lover but this dessert was big, and a lot of chocolate, so i also recommend sharing with whomever you may be with!

Two Months

Chloey is two months old this month! we went in for her checkup earlier this week, and she is a happy, healthy baby. she weighs 11lbs 1.5oz and is 23.5 inches long. She also had to get her first set of shots, which was easier than i had expected it to be, and she did really well. She is really smart, and is learning new things quickly.

We got a new truck

Matt and I decided to get a new truck, and here it is. Its a Ford F150 FX4 Crewcab. We absolutely love it! I didn't think i would ever want a truck with four doors, but once we checked a few of them out, i actually really like the bigger back seat, plus it will be great for when the kids get bigger! It has black leather interior, chrome running boards, 18" crome wheels, a sunroof, and an ipod dock built in, which i thought was cool.

Vacation

Chloey and I are going to be going on vacation to visit my family in Oklahoma from Februrary 22 to March 11. Unfortunately Matt will be at work. we will miss him alot, but also look forward to seeing everyone down there. Hopefully, the plane ride with Chloey will go well!she will only be two and a half months old by then, so im a little nervous about it, since I obviously have never flown with a baby. Im sure everything will work out and she will probably just sleep since we are going to be flying at night, at least thats what im hoping for anyway! Ill be sure to let you all know how it goes. We hope to be able to see everyone while we are down there!

A Quick Trip

Today Matt and I decided to head up to Hatchers pass to check out the snow and get in a day ride on the snowmachine. Matt hasn't been able to go on a ride yet this winter, so he was really excited and has been anxious to get on his sled. Unfortunately, after we got up there, and already unloaded the snowmachine, we found out that it was closed to snowmachiners due to "insufficient snow". What a BUMMER! Even though we didn't end up getting to do anything up there, It was still a beautiful sunny day and a nice drive. I ended up getting some really pretty pictures of the mountains, and we still had fun just hanging out.

Chloey's One Month Old

Chloey is now one month old! At her checkup today, she weighed 9lbs 3oz and is 22.5 inches long. She is growing so fast. She is still sleeping good at night, getting in five to six hours a stretch, and is smiling and interacting more and more everyday. Most people still think that she looks more like matt. I dont know, i think that she is starting to look more like me now. She is good at holding her head up and is learning to control it more. Matt is at work right now, and i think that he will be suprised when he gets home at how much bigger chloey seems then when he left!

Bath Time Fun

Chloey loves taking baths! Although she is not old enough to fully express it, i know she is having so much fun. These are just a few pics of her latest bathtime. It is her first time sitting up in the water in her little bathtub, and she really enjoyed it. When i took her out to get her all dried off, she made it clear that she was not ready to get out yet, so i let her sit in for a few more minutes and she was great. She is already learning that she likes being spoiled, i think we are in for a handfull!
